It's only been a week since Paldean Fates has released and we have had a ton of fun ripping packs and stacking the hits! But how much value can we extract from Paldean Fates? Lets take a look at the most expensive cards to pull from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Paldean Fates...
1. Charizard ex (Special Illustration Rare) - £100 - £150
There is no surprise really that Charizard ex would make an appearance at the top of our list. The artwork depicts Charizard drenched in luminous reds and purples with Charizard looking as if he is emerging from the fiery crystallised depths! An awesome card for any collector and definitely the top chase card of Paldean Fates.
2. Mew ex (Special Illustration Rare) - £70 - £130
Mew ex flips the script with this super cute and simple illustration by Japanese artist USGMEN. A great looking illustration and a powerful card to add to its value!
3. Gardevoir ex (Special Illustration Rare) - £50 - £100
Gardevoir ex has had some beautiful illustrative cards in the past but this one from Paldean Fates is certainly our favourite! There is so much detail within this piece of art as Gardevoir dances in the moonlight. Well deserving of the third most expensive card on our list!
4. Iono (Illustration Rare) - £30 - £95
This year Iono has blessed us with some fabulous artworks (Paldean Fates special illustration artwork being most notable) and Paldean Fates brings us yet another alternative artwork of the fan loved trainer. Mismagius floating in the background is just a pure bonus!
5. Pikachu (Shiny Rare) - £20- £40
Possibly the most famous Pokémon on our list, Shiny Rare Pikachu is up next with a super simple and lovable card! The absolute epitome of cuteness!
6. Nemona (Special Illustration Rare) - £20 - £30
Nemona illustration rare slots in next with another awesome artwork. There is so much dynamic movement in this art centred around a thrown pokeball, it's easy to see why it garners a price tag like it does, topped with the face this has the super useful ability to simply 'Draw 3 cards' and you have a recipe for an awesome valuable card!
7. Clive (Special Illustration Rare) - £15 - £30
Clive illustration rare is another cute artwork with almost an Animal Crossing style of design. There are so many epic Pokémon featured in this artwork and like Sylveon, Lechonk and even a little Psyduck hiding in the bottom! Bright an vibrant, this card is an awesome illustration by artist Taiga Kayama.
8. Penny (Illustration Rare) - £10 - £30
And finally to round out our list is the special illustration rare of the supporter Penny from Paldean Fates. Featuring another Pokeball focal point with one of the 'Eeveelutions' Umbreon, its no wonder why this card is an awesome collectors piece.
Conclusion:
Oh yes, Scarlet and Violet Paldean Fates certainly did not disappoint! There are some seriously cool cards to pull from this set with some awesome artworks! This set will definitely be one to look out for in the future, come two or three years time once Paldean Fates is out of print and I believe this set will garner a high price for those savvy investors looking to make some money. But even so, if you are looking for a fun set to open with big hits and strong usablity in the trading card game, then Paldean Fates may be the set for you!
